Default Rally Wheels

I'm gearing up for Spring driving season and I want to put rally wheels on my 73. I've got some aftermarket rims now and I'm not crazy about them. I love the looks of the rallies. I'm looking for input from anybody that's purchased a set of these and where you found the best prices . I need 4 rims, OEM caps and the trim rings. Or as an alternative, if anybody has a set for sell, give me a yell. Thanks, Steve

Check the aftermarket providers and see what they are asking for a set of four. DO NOT get the plastic caps. You want the metal ones. Unless you just have to have them, you don't need the original 4 clip trim rings. The stainless steel multiclips look every bit as good.

If you are going to buy Rally Wheels, why don't you look into Wheel Vintiques 17" Chrome Rallys? They aren't that expensive, and you can save the price of the trim rings. Repro Center caps are fairly cheap too. The total setup would probably cost you 50% more than steel rallys, trim rings and caps.
Of course you'd have to get new tires, but you would really set your car off with those wheels and tires.
Zwede has them on his 71 BB, and they look fantastic!

Look on Ebay, I see them on there all the time.

Or if you go to carlisle or any other car shows here is the best way.

Find a set of four Code AZ Rallys that are the nastiest looking crudded up wheels you can find, but make sure they are straight. You'll probably be able to get the set for $80 to $100 bucks that way (not including caps and rings). Take them to a shop and have them media blasted down to the steel, shouldn't cost much to have it done. Handle them with *CLEAN WHITE COTTON* gloves and paint them ASAP with Rally wheel paint before they rust. If you don't feel like buying them in a spray can you can have them painted with argent silver paint. I suggest using a coat of green epoxy primer. The cotton gloves are important. If you handle the bare steel you'll get oil off your hands on them and the paint wont adhere properly. When all is said and done, if you've done it right, you should be able to get the whole set including rings for 250-300 bucks. It's how I've done it on my Camaro and Vette, it just takes a little patience.

EDIT: I just noticed you're in CA. I've heard some of the shows at Pomona are GOLDMINES for this kind of stuff.

They're are a cheap replacement set of rims that the last owner put on, they look "OK", I've seen a couple of other C3's around with the rallies and I just like the looks. No pics, I'm still too cheap to get a digitial camera. I'm getting new tires at the same time, so I'm trying to get the rims as cheap as possible. Thanks all for the input. I'll have to check out the Pomona angle.

I bought my wheels from a forum member. Got a great deal and met a real nice member. I would suggest that over ebay. :D

Believe it or not, check summitracing.com. These vette rallys are so popular with all the Chevy and other GM fans, that summit offers a complete outfit.

Check your pawn shops too. Knew a guy that got a set of 15X8's for $ 250.00 with the Hiway patrol small center caps.

Because GM produced rally rims for other models besides the Corvette, and with similar trim rings and caps.

I guess I shouldnt be partial to summit, jegs has them also. of coarse thier not originals, but they're good mock ups. Made by Wheel Vintiques. Has anyone ever seen these on a car? Is it true that these rallys originally came in 8" widths only on the corvette?

On the C3, 68 had Code AG 15x7. 69-75 had Code AZ 15x8
