Default I bought a Hurst Quarter stick Shifter!

I made the mistake of going to the local Speed shop and couldn't not buy the quarter stick, talk about a nice feeling shifer

I cannot go into neutral without you trying and the shift from 1 to 2 is also positive, i.e. you can't miss 2 and go to 3...

The best part is it feels extremely solid and GOOD!
I got the quarter stick which comes with a switch for a line lock ( another summer project )

you have it installed?

i'm eyeing the same one, my stock one slips and slides through gears... probably just needs some bushings and some wrenching, but whats an excuse to spend cash on the car? :jester

No I don't even have it yet...
I'm hoping I won't have to cut up the console ( cause I wont!)

But it sure feels solid :smash:

Don't worry- if it doesn't work for you, have modified a stock shifter (sleeper) to lock out reverse & have been thinking of selling a kit or instructions - e-mail.

Please let us know if it turns out to be a direct bolt-in that doesn't require modifying the console or any of its parts in any major way.

Keith, I have thought about getting one of those for my street rod. Right now, I have the Megashifter(ratchet). You can't beat the feel of the ratchet, but ratcheting back to first after I put it into drive gets a little old sometimes. If I understand this right, other than the reverse lock out, the quarter stick is much like a standard detent shifter where there is only resistance from the spring detent to prevent skipping a gear. Is this correct?

Does anyone know of one that allows dropping all of the way back into 1st like a detent shifter and then ratcheting forward through the gears like a normal ratchet shifter? I remember seeing a B&M shifter somewhere that has both detent and ratchet mode, but I don't believe it allows that.

Do you mean reverse pattern? Cause reverse patterns require a highly modified valvebody and usually go with a transbrake.

If you mean where does the cable come out, they guy told be you can change it from front to back exit...

I think you want a TH400 forward pattern and forward cable...

PN 530-316-0006

That said, I just got back from a all hands meeting, they laid off another 20% of the company ( third one in 6 months ) and gave us a 10% pay cut....

Yes, I survived :Wiping sweat from brow smilie:

So I cancelled my order :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry

Look into getting the B&M Pro Stick before buying the quarterstick from Hurst. Both are pretty much the same but if you ever decide to change the transmission to a different pattern (Unlikely, but ya never know). The B&M sells plates that will change the pattern for roughly $30 whereas with the Hurst, your stuck buying a whole new shifter.

Just food for thought.
