Replacing body mount bushings.
Hello all,
I have a 76 corvette that is in dire need of having the body mount bushings replaced. The body was redone 2 years ago and it's going in to have the bushings replaced at the same place that painted my car. My question is what exactly is involved in replacing these? Will anything be damaged lifting the body 3-4"? I'm kinda of lost on this process. I would like to hear that it's as simple as removing the old bolts and what's left of the bushings/shims, lifting the body a few inches, putting the new bushings in and dropping the body back on. Some guidance from some guru's would be greatly appreciated.

It is pretty easy. I replaced mine a month ago. I pulled the complete body though. But you don`t have to do that. They can be a little bit of a bugger. So take your time. Be prepared to snap bolts. You will probably snap one or two.

As far as I have seen today it is possible to do without removing all of the body.
You can lift your body 3" to 4" on one side and this allows you to replace the bushings.
It was easy with my car sitting on a hoist.
There is no guarantee, of course and if your mounts are in bad shape it will become a difficult encounter!
