What brand of tranny fluid do you use???
And how often (mile wise) do you change your tranny filter and fluid? Is there any high end brand fluid you recommend?

I use whatever brand is closer to the front of the shelf. :) On the vette I change it every other summer, but on every other vehicle I own, I change it........well, never, I don't change it on anything else. Unless I have to drain it for some repair, it stays in there forever. :eek: :D

I'm hoping that changing the filter and using better fluid will bring back my 1st to second chirp. After a while it just stopped.

I use Mobil1 synthetic ATF....Mobil1 engine oil and gear oil too.

Mine leaks out so fast it is usually what ever is handy. One of these days I'll get up off my dead butt and start my 200-4r install.

Too funny thats how I feel about my ps pump :crazy: I don't prioritize it because it doesn't make the vette faster or prettier :smash:

Good Luck!! Changed mine for the 1st time @ about 70k miles, it started acting like I had the brakes on in low gear then about 2 weeks later it started slipping. :eek: Got to rebuild now!! :cry :bs

I use amsoil ATF in my new 700r4, it is expensive but I spent alot of hard earned cash for the conversion. :chevy

Used redline and still lost trans in one summer although I think the Hughes trans was never right from the start. This time I had a local shop do it. And I am useing Ford type f. It is better at high temp then GM and also shifts harder. The old hotrodders have been useing the type F for years because of the harder and faster shifts.

I'll look into the ford type, but its no wonder you broke your tranny. Hell I wish I had your problems with your car :jester I'm surprised you don't go through tranny's like underwear :D
