'79 Tach Testing
I'm taking my tach to be tested today. I want to know how it is done because I don't totally trust the guys that are doing it. They've never done any work for me before. I know there is a 12V source, a ground, and a signal source. What frequency (I guess its frequency) should the signal be? I'm not sure if sending the tach the wrong signal could fry it but I don't want to take any chances. Oh yeah, and which connection is which?
TIA,
TIA,

Re: '79 Tach Testing (e3pres)
I took a 5" tach I had to a speed shop and he hooked it up to an old msd box he had on display. As he moved the dial up and down the tach went with it. I suspected a faulty tach but he showed me otherwise. Didn't cost me anything, only took 10 seconds. Maybe you otta try a speed shop like I did?

Re: '79 Tach Testing (Stingy74)
I may try that. I took the thing to the "electronics shop that can fix anything and the guy was completely clueless. Thanks for the tip.
