Default Updated with full vid: ...and I walked away

I crashed my Z this morning at Mason Dixon dragway in MD. Vid link below. I T-boned a Jersey Barrier at about 90+mph.

A car blew its motor right before my run and aparently the track crew at the dragway didn't clean up the track properly. I might have hit a slick spot in the middle of third gear, and lost it. No injuries but the car is trashed. There may be some more vids that come in which I'll post, plus some pics of the extensive damage.

I feels like the car pulled hard right when I lost it. Please watch this vid and give me your impression of whether it looks like the right front wheel locked up/braked, causing the car to veer right. Thanks
Got the vid link: http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/f...008fall003.flv

It could have been much worse and thank everything we can believe in that you or know one else were injured.
Just to know for information, did you have the computer active handling turned off or just traction control?
Again, glad your OK!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! Here's a link to the vid I posted on YouTube that someone recorded. It doesn't show the actual impact, though. Spectators said I hit the wall so hard that the back wheels came up in the air. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ww9_vu59NE4

Which video on youtube is it???

Never mind. I saw it. Sounded like things were starting to go bad on the 1-2 shift, like it was losing traction.

I have some pics of the car now, but I can't post attachments for some reason still. I post the pics once I figure out how to get that changed.

Wow - that looked terrible going in at that angle.
Thank goodness you are OK.

One question - Did you have your traction control set to Auto-Handling?

AH can usually bail you out of situations like this, but on the other hand, there here have been a couple rare reports of Auto-Handling malfunctions.

I'm wondering if it was the oil on the track or something else that contributed to the accident.

If you had AH enabled and the car still went into a severe slide while you had the steering wheel pointed straight ahead, it would warrant further investigation.

Yes, TC off, AH on (one push). There was definitely something on the track. The car just snapped around and it wasn't during a gearchange or anything, just pulling in third. It was my 7th or 8th run and I had no problem all day with traction in third, but a car blew its motor in that lane right before I ran and I guess there was something on the track still.

I was incredibly impressed with how stout the car is. I hit the wall REAL hard, so hard that the magnesium cradle cracked on both sides where the a-arms connect, but it aborbed it so well inside the car, I don't even have any soreness where the shoulder belt goes or anything. The doors still open and close perfectly.

Sorry to hear and very glad you're alright. You'll be back in a new one soon and there's no better time than now with the prices being what they are. So much for the words "take it to the track".
