Default Trans cooler...how necessary is one with a 2400 stall TC?

About 1 1/2 years aog I had performance TH-400 rebuilt by a shop Level 10 who had there style of a performance rebuild in a Dec article tiltled "Top Gear-Steeping up Vette performance on a TH-400" a couple of years ago in Vette magazine.
A few differnces are changing of types of regulator and piston release springs, going to teflon sealing rings instead of cast iron, heavy duty over stock roller bearings,Raybestos lined clutches, heavy duty seals and another 8-10 performance differences than a stock rebuild.
Read here many feel a trans cooler is good to have with a 2400 stall TC.
Never was mentioned by the shop.
Trans cooler necessary or would just changing to 100% synthetic trans fluid work?
I drive her about 2500-3000 miles a year.

If any one wants the Vette article of this performance trans rebuild I can fax it to you.

IMO, any and all auto-trannies need their own dedicated external cooler....
in place of the engine radiator thing....
something nice and HUGE.....biggest you can find, bigger yet....

Al
The article is on a upgrade performance rebuild of the trans.
Nothing on a cooler.
If you still want the trans article post or send me a fax number.

Thanks mrvette
I guess I'll pick one from Summit.
100% synthetic to absorb more heat won't do it?

I really dunno about synthetic, except it costs a fortune, and that oil is so thin and in a huge hurry in there anyway, as long as it's cool, I sorta feel syn. oil is a waste for an auto tranny.....
now for an engine, stick shift tranny, and rear diff.....hell yes....
