License Plate Bezel
71 Vette Where can I find a stainless steel license plate bezel? All of my catalogs list chrome ones. Also, has anybody had there bumbers rechromed?

Re: License Plate Bezel (Tom Johnson)
I have a 68 and I had my front and rear bumpers rechromed as well as the small bumperettes on each side of the front license plate. Cost me about $300 as I recall and they came out real nice. Not triple plate show chrome because I wanted the stock look and GM never used triple plate show chrome.
I read in a few places that you are better off to have your original bumpers rechromed rather than buy aftermarket bumpers because they are supposedly inferior quality. Do not know if this is true or not but mine had no rust or dents so I had them rechromed and I am happy with the results.

Re: License Plate Bezel (ksbunting)
The original license plate FRAMES that came with the car were made of thin stainless steel. These frames "clipped" around the license plate. 2 frames came with each new car. A repro of this frame is available, although some have said it isn't quite 100% correct...something to do with SS vs. chrome plated rivets used to hold the retaining clips. Chuck
