1980 Corvette Battery Wire Junction Block.....
When I was up at the Woodbridge, New Jersey NCRS meet last September, I saw 2 out of 5 1980 Corvettes that had this "junction block" on the driver's side of the battery in the battery compartment. One '80 was a four speed, the other an automatic. It comes off of the positive cable and is a smaller gauge wire than the "red main cable wire" going to the starter. This smaller red wire goes to this "junction block" with a stud coming out where other wires were also attached to it. It looked factory. The 1980 GM Service Manual shows no such thing about this "junction block". Any other 1980 owners here who's car has this? What's it do? My 1980 is a four speed, has rear defog and power windows and power locks and it DOES NOT have this.

yup mine has too, only reason i know is coz i had to fit a new battery, cant, the correct battery here in New Zealand, so have to adapt, like most things, and that wire off the junction *** was too short so i had to make a new one.

this is on my 81 4 speeed loaded car.
