HD Idler arm, how to identify?
Hey guys and gals,
The last weekend of my mid-winters vacation I'm fitting back up all those cleaned and rebushed a-arms with new ball joints. I got the vette brakes anti-bump steer blocks installed on the steering arms(not an easy job).
My question is, the idler arm coming off has 2 castelated nuts. The mounting arm is threaded and is nutted/cotter pinned to the arm. Now the one I got new to install has a fitted mounting arm. Which is the "heavier duty" unit? Or are they both comparable in strength?
Thanks Scott

Typically the HD idler will have a nut at each end of the idler arm - one where it attaches to the relay rod and the other where the arm attaches to the mount.
They may vary by MFR though...

Thanks Fauxrs,
The old one was still real tight , but I'll put the one in that came with the Zip kit. If it fails fast then you'll hear me yell :yesnod:
