I have an 82 vette. I an having problems with the door opening form the outside. The door will open fine from the inside. The outside handle works fine, it's just very difficult to open the door from the outside. I would like to know what I could do to correct this problem. Thanks

I have the exact same problem. I have to kind of give the door a jerk to get it to open. I think I may be hanging up on the latch pin. You might try to see if you can get a look at whether or not your latch pin goes right in the middle of the slot when you close the door or if it is too high or too low.

Anybody else have ideas?

My 75 does also, I notice that the body lines dont exactly line up so I would think my hinges are wearing and I need to readjust. I was told itss a bitch. Maybe someone can shed some light on this subject.

I tried adjusting the strick pin. However I believe that made the problem worse. Thnks for your help this must be a common problem. I am new to the forum can you explain to me how to add a picture to my signature. Thanks.

I've got the same problem... but in a weird way... I sort of like it.
I know how to open the door from the outside... but no one else does.... and I can leave it unlocked most of the time.
It takes both hands to open it... but only I know that. :lol:
