Mystery 4-speed, will it fit?
I am trying to figure out if this tranny will bolt right into a 69. If it does I want to keep it but if not it is just taking up valuable garage space. It has a 26 spline input shaft and a turbo 400 style yoke. The plate the shifter bolts to looks different from my Muncies as well. I know it will bolt up to the bell housing and it looks like the mount will line up. I am concerned though that maybe the tail it is longer than the stock Muncie or the shifter will be too far foward or back. I know I can just measure my existing trannys and compare the two but it is just too cold to lay on the garage floor right now :) . Any ideas? Would the tranny numbers help to know if it fits?

Possibly a Borg Warner Super T-10? I think they have th400 yokes.
Or its possibly a Saginaw which I have heard they aren't that durable?
I'll see if I have any Saginaw pictures at home and scan them in and post them if you want.

Re: Mystery 4-speed, will it fit? (MikeC)
Here we go, I looked at my books hopefully we can figure this out.
Muncie- You probably know what the side covers look like( straight lower edge)
Saginaw- side cover has all three shifter shafts in it
Warner(T-10 and super T-10)- lower edge of side cover is curved.
I have pictures scanned in but they are the Haynes manual exploded diagrams, so you probably have seen them already.

Thanks MikeC for the info. I have a Haynes manual somewhere, didn't think to look in there. Maybe it will give dimensions so I can see if they are interchangable or not. Appreciate it.
