Well, took the car to Geico (other party's insurance co) today. The adjuster was a nice guy. Chatted for about 20 minutes about the car.

Geico is mailing me a check for $2000 tomorrow. He also said that if there is a need for more money after the body shop starts working on it, he has no problem writing an additional check.

Seems Geico is on the up-and-up. I also get a rent car. I'll be driving it over to the body shop on monday. I'm having the same shop that originally painted it do the work.

So hopefully everything will work out OK.

I've always heard good things about Geico.
Years ago Geico stopped writing policies in the highest cost of insurance state.. New Jersey.

What was the time estimate from the body shop for the repairs?

$1600 labor & paint + $100 parts (license plate frame).

D'oh, you said time, not money! Time was 10 days, but I find that hard to believe. My guess is atleast a month, but we'll see...
