Check This Out....Anohter "VetteWagon??"
Saw this little creation a couple weeks ago in one of the classic car dealerships while visiting in Fla. It looked like a freak sitting there but was done real neat. Kinda felt sorry for her. I couldn't get a frontal shot because of space, but the nose had one of those custon square light set-ups :U The side pipes covers were fabricated. Interior looked stock, except for the...."wagon part". Here's the pic. Try to hold your lunch. Hope no one has one of these. It would be my last thought as to insult any Vette owner!! L8TER, Paul. :D

Please tell me this isn't another '71 wagon. Every one I've seen so far is a '71. I really think it's unfair that the other C3 years don't share in this abuse

I'm ashamed to admit it, but i do like these. Not that i'd chop up a good car to build one. I wouldn't chop a bad car to build one. Since it is already built and if you could buy it without breaking the bank, I still maintain this would be a cool car to deliver pizzas in.

Sure is a shame to see another Vette bite the dust,
BUT...
just maybe it was involved in a wreck. And rather than see
it permanently retired to a parts yard, the owner decided to
rescue what was left of it.
If that's the case, then I take my hat off to the guy.
And judging from the photo, there's a lot beautiful bodywork
involved. Although it may not be what most people would
want to be seen driving, you've got to admit that the quality
of bodywork shows someone has a gift of talent.
For any of you who've tried bodywork, you know what I mean.
Actually, the car parked next to it looks kind of interesting.

Ibell101, Wasn't sure of the year so I wasn't gonna post it, but now that you mention it, 71 definatly comes to mind if any year does!! :p:
Blue bird...... I hear ya and know about that body work thing. Just finished my shark. Down to the gel coat then back up to paint. With plenty glass work in between!! Thats why I think the wagon above was done really neat. The mid-year next to it is a 63 split. Real sweet car. :yesnod:

OK i agree that car makes my guts heave... but I know in the mid 70's A lot of crazy things were done to vetts. Things done back then seem "hip" and "groovy" while by todays standard would seem "ugly". Rember CORVETTE SUMMER? I bet if you saw that car today it would make you sick.
( ok Ill concede that the body work for corvette summer was alright. however the color scheme was just as bad as the brown monstor in this post)
just my $0.02
cheers!

Well, I got to admit stowing the t-tops would be a breeze....but what a price to pay  . I think the gas tank question is a valid one, where is it and how big is it?

Well Ill probably get a lot of stick for saying this but.. I kinda like it.
I use to have a toy one as a kid in blue with flames.
I'd rather drive that ( in a different colour ) that some other boring estate.
I'm not 100% and maybe someone can verify this but I think there was a small production run of these back in the 70's.

Having spent the last year trying like heck to restore and update my 69 I can only begin to imagine how much time goes into a project like that. Someone really spent alot of time, money, and energy to create this frankenstien puke mobile. I just dont get it. Thank goodness

I'm scared. :nonod:
Make it go away.
Make it go away.
Here is something to ponder: Paint the car a different color, tint the windows, get a nicer set of wheels and make the side pipes functional. I like the car. If it wasn't an outrageous price, I'd buy it, then do the mods.

Re: Check This Out....Anohter "VetteWagon??" (redc3vette1)
The question was asked about a limited production:
Greenwood made a few and sold them. There is one here in Soldotna that I see every now and then. I don't really like the rear end on that one, but some of them are actually quite nice. They are a whole lot more practical than any of our cars.

When you see these Vettagons (I believe that's the kit was called) it'll normally be very early seventies Vette which have been modified as the kit was available in mid 70's and no-one would cut up a brand new car. Believe it or not, the kit maker advertised the modifications as being an improvement and there were quite a few of them sold.
Compare this beastie with some of the other two door wagons which were on the market before and after: the Chev Nomad, the Vega wagon come to mind easily. It seems to me the other makers had their versions as well (ie: Pinto wagon, Volks Fox wagon to name a few) and you'll see the Vette is clearly superior.
Mind you, I'd rather be disembowled with a fingernail file then be seen driving one. :U
