To Tint or Not to Tint?
Do our windows have a mild factory tint? I am planning on tinting my windows the weekend after next, but it's really just for the UV protection here in Florida. I was just wondering if we have a film on there from the factory and how good is it at keeping the interior safe? It get's pretty hot too, so the heat reduction would be nice. I am not sure how I will like the look, since I enjoy seeing my Shale interior next to the dark blue. Since I drive my car everyday though I don't want the interior fading over time....also, has anyone used Solar Tech film? I have Lumar on my wife's car and it hasn't held up well over the years. I found a person that can do the rear hatch with one piece and he sounds good, just not sure if I want the dark windows hiding my interior visually.
UPDATE:
Decided to get it done, here is a pic and more on page 2.

GM used Soft Ray tint on most all of their vehicles. My 02 has Shaded HUD Solar Ray from the factory on the windshield and Solar Ray on the other windows. GM factory tint is a light tint that provides some UV protection.
I went with aftermarket tint. 20% on the rear hatch and 35% on the sides. The legal max in Missouri. Looks good and makes a big difference in the summer.

Yep, I'm in Southern MS, and have mine tinted with Solar Tech, 35% all around. All my vehicles are tinted, only way to go in the south.

Bazinga!
Tint makes any car look better.
Seen several Vettes at Carlisle with no tint Even if you're not a big fan of dark tint even a light tint looks good...

The windows have a slight tint to them, but adding some tint film will help you out a lot. Check your state laws on what is legal and go that route.
