Wet Sanding Tired Paint?
Any of you have any experience bringing back tired paint by wet sanding? I'm wondering how far gone your paint can be before it's pointless to try this? The Corvette Detailing book makes it sound like it can help paint most people would have given up on...

Yes, it can help if the paint is faded. You can't fix cracking or checking though.
HOWEVER, if you choose to go this route keep this in mind. You have no idea how thick the paint is. You could very easily go through if it is too thin or the fading goes too deep. I've spruced up a couple this way but was always prepared for a full paint job if it didn't work. One time I sanded and buffed a 55 Tbird with decade old paint and it looked like new when done.

Re: Wet Sanding Tired Paint? (76 Shark)
My 77 had dull dark red paint when I bought it.
Used Mothers California Gold Carnuba cleaner wax on it, and it brought the paint up to a very nice shine.
