What Manual Are Engine Torque Spec's Listed?
I am pulling some of my engine apart soon to replace gaskets and clean it up. My GM Shop Manual has trouble shooting suggestions and some engine re-assembly procedures, but no torque spec sheet. WTF?? The shop manual for my year ('77) covers all Chevy passenger cars, and is not Vette specific. Thanks and Happy New Year

From my understanding the Helm's Manuals are the only way to go. Got mine on order and it should be here soon. Have a Haynes though and if you let me know what torques you need and they're in mine I'll post away.

The AIM has them as well for most areas. They're just a little hard to decipher.

I forgot about the AIM.... What's great about it is that it has the torque for every little screw also. Anything that's fastened has a torque setting in the AIM, not just the mechanical like the Service manual.
Of course, a lot of people think that the right torque is "tighten until you strip the threads and then back off 1/4 turn.....".

Thanks a Ton Armstrong. I want to jump on the job and not have to wait for the Mailman. (time to tinker is so fleeting) I need Rocker Cover, Oil Pan, and Trans Pan specs for a 77 L-48 350Automatic.
