Default Dual disc clutch, not for me but maybe someone else is interested

I responded to an ad in December Hemmings that said "original L-88 dual disc clutch."

I didn't think L-88's ever came with a dual disc clutch but I called anyway. I believe it is from an LS-6. Here are the details.

2 10 inch clutch discs
1 Pressure plate
1 14 inch Flywheel

He says it is all new, unused. He said it was dated 1973.

I would have given it a go but my car has the 403 bellhousing and smaller flywheel. This should fit under any 621 bellhousing.

There have been a couple of threads on this setup- maybe on the C-2 page; anyway, if you want to read about one, see the "Big Block From Hell" series by Hib Halverson, on the Idaho Corvette site. Seems to me it was trouble when it first came out. The present setup is supposed to be very good now, I guess.
