Default Original Brake Caliper identification "71"

Oh I know this is **** but before I return my brake caliper for the core charge I want to be sure it is not original.
After 150000+ miles I doubt it but I want to be sure.
Does anyone know what to look for, numbers, name, letters, markings whatever. I would appreciate it.

I just researched this topic for another forum member...

The original calipers were supplied by Delco Moraine and are identified as such on the casting. The casting numbers are as follows:

1965-Early 1967
5465954 (front, inner)
5465952 (front, outer)
5465902 (rear. inner)
5465905 (rear, outer)

Late 1967-Early 1972
5452270 (front, inner)
5452273 (front, outer)
5452281 (rear, inner)
5452284 (rear, outer)

Late 1972-1982
5473795 (front, inner)
5473796 (front, outer)
5473806 (rear, inner)
5473807 (rear, outer)

There various differences between the years in design and material... If you're interested in that, let me know and I can provide more detailed information.

There is some conjecture as to what (if any) date codes were used on these calipers. I can tell you that if there are any, nobody has proven to any degree what they are. If you're interested in originality/ judging, you'd be safe with the correct casting numbers (for now anyway :) ).

These must be replacements. I don't find any numbers like that on these. All I have is on the inner in large raised letters 1011 / B / 2 and the outer has 1010 only. They also do not have Delco Moraine on them like the replacement I just put on the car.
Well I guess I go get the core charge back.
