headlight problem 1973
Any help appreciated, problem is drivers side headlight not opening. When light switch is engaged, passenger side opens, drivers side opeens half way then closes, it will stay open if pulled up, any idea what casues this and how to fix. Replace actuator? (sp?) if so is this difficult?

Re: headlight problem 1973 (cmg1)
your problem is probably in the actuator seal for the drivers side..
pull actuator and replace seal....a $10 fix....go to zip's website for an article on how to do this...its pretty easy.

An actuator seal is a good thing to hope for. It could also be a vacuum problem with one of the hoses or Ts. I could be the actuator itself. Mine had a pin hole in it that I was able to solder closed (that was a few years ago and it's still holding, wood :smash: ).
I hope it's something simple. Good Luck.

Another "bubba" solution, and test is to disconnect one of the actuators and run both headlights off of the one working actuator.
Make sure that you plug the other vacuum lines though.
Worked fine on my 76 before I could afford to buy a new actuator since the whole thing was trashed. I think that some of the earlier c3s had only one actuator anyway.
