Attention A6 Owners!!! Finally, The Wait Is Over!!! @ C.o.w.
ATTENTION A6 OWNERS!!!
After a VERY LONG WAIT....It's FINALLY HERE!!!
MAIL ORDER TUNING
for
A6 CORVETTES
How long have you waited??? For 3 full years. Finally, the wait is over.
EVERYONE knows that the 08 A6 vehicles have better software, they have more features, and they are more fun to drive.
I have finally created a way to install the 08 A6 software into the earlier 06 & 07 controllers. I didn't think it could be done, but I've finally got it working.
What this all means is that anyone wanting to tune their A6 Corvette can remove the A6 controller and ship it to CORVETTES of WESTCHESTER just the same as you would your engine computer.
Additionally, it is now possible to install the BETTER 08' SOFTWARE into your transmission for the best performance possible.
While the TRANSMISSION CONTROLLER (computer) is a bit more trouble to remove than the engine controller...any mechanic of reasonable ability should be able to do it.
If time permits, I will begin preparing a PHOTO TUTORIAL for how to remove the transmission controller. For anyone interested who may need assistance, I am always available by phone to help out.
For those of you interested in the A6 ATTACK PACKAGE 3.42 REAR ENDS MAIL ORDER TUNING is now available!
Below are some photos of the A6 ELECTRO/HYDRAULIC CONTROLLER which is located INSIDE the automatic transmission...and YES, submerged in the Automatic Transmission Fluid!
Again, for ANYONE wanting to MAIL ORDER TUNE THEIR A6 CORVETTE, upgrade their existing Chuck CoW A6 tune, or purchase the Corvettes of Westchester A6 TOTAL ATTACK 3.42 REAR END and TUNE PACKAGE...
PLEASE CALL ME ANY TIME!
I LOVE AUTOMATICS!

I remember one of those GM slides saying there were mechanical and software improvements to the 08 A6. Could you venture a guess as to the long term effects of running the newer 08 software/module on an 07/06 A6?
Also, do you work on a exchange basis? Some of us use our cars as DD and cannot afford any downtime during the week.

Chuck Cow does it again
Chuck, I'll be ordering my new '08 valve body for my '07 cause I like being shiftless.
I'll call you re: when we can install and retune.

ANSWER: I don't work for them and I don't know what they are doing.
ANSWER: I don't work for them and I don't know what they are doing.
Their software does not permit such changes UNLESS it's mandated from corporate and the TIS programming system is modified to make it work.
As of "very" late last night, I saw no evidence of any software being available from GM TIS for Mike's 06 A6.
While it is possible for the engineers at GM to make any software they want available to anyone....I've only seen it a few times and it only happens when there is a problem they can't fix by conventional methods.
It's unlikely, and NO, I don't think they are offering it.

I have only drove the 06 & 07 A6. Does the 08 shift and drive that much different. I have an 06 and I love the A6 but would love a little more of a positive shift feel.

Cool, now if you can figure out the throttle blip on paddle downshift I'll really be a happy camper. On this 08 update do they get the throttle blip on paddle downshift before the tune?

The tuning changes GM did to the A6 for 08 is actually detremental if you want performance. They added higher Torque Managment to the tranny to make it appear to shift quicker to the driver. It handicaps the peformance of the car moreso than that of the 06-07 A6s .There has been more 08 A6 trannies fail than all of 06s and 07s combined due to this increased nanny causing issues. What COW does is sooooooooo much better. If you have a stock A6, a real tuner is the way to go to make that car awaken.

Chuck,
First off, WOW!
Now that we've got that out of the way, I've got a few questions for you.
1) Does the 08 hardware (not just the software) swap into the previous version A6s?
2) If the 08 hardware (with software presumably included) swaps, any idea on cost and availability?
3) Is the 08 hardware (not just the software) faster than the previous versions? I've heard the processors were faster from several tuners.
4) If hardware swaps are available, will you offer them and if so, with or without the famous CoW software tune?

The actual difference is in the hydraulics and the software. I know for a fact that the operating system of the 08 is much different in that decoding it to create the tuning software took extra time while the 07 was nearly identical to the 06 models.
New features like REV-MATCHING were included in the 08's and several other things that you might not necessarily notice, but they are there for your benefit.
I believe (and they would have been smart if they did) GM made the controllers "bolt up" so I would imagine that the 08 controller (w/ integral hydraulic unit) should be a retro for the earlier trans. Otherwise they would have had to change the valve body as well.
I believe the controllers are finally available from GM for like $600. bucks....but I also believe they charge a core charge even though the unit is new. Don't quote me on this.... Someone Please check and let us know.....
I can put the 08 software by itself or better yet, the 08 GM software with MY A6 tune. Then you're ROCKIN!
Stay TUNED!

A6 guys jump in here and confirm that when downshifting in paddle mode on an 08 A6 the engine revs up to match the next lower gear..
