Interior Courtesy Lights Won't Turn Off....
Interior lights come on uncommanded. I pulled the fuse out and put it back in
and the lights went back to normal. Problem repeated itself next time I drove it. Obviously a short. Any suggestions on the 1st place to look. I hate electrical problems.

Turning the switch does nothing, lights stay on. Only thing that seems to work is removing the fuse and puting it back in. That works, but sure enough
the lights come back on the next time I drive it and will not go off. :mad

The interior lights grounding wire that runs to the door switch passes right by the fuse block. It also runs over a hole in the body and may be shorting there. By removing the fuse you may be moving the wire and once you drive again the wire lays back down against the metal. It's real tight under the dash on the driver's side and "strange" things can happen there. I'd suggest you check it out.

No delay feature on my car. I do not think it was offered in 73. I still have not
been able to find the short. I hate electrical problems. :mad

Same problem here. When my door closed, it didn't push the switch in enough to turn off the lights. Someone actually installed a "spacer' on the door so it pushes the switch in enough to turn off the lights. To try this, just tape some type of spacer (bent cardboard) to the door opposite the switch. Check to see if it is lined up properly. If it doesn't work, you may need more of a spacer. Be careful not to shut the door completely before you see if the light goes out (you may break the switch if you put too large a spacer. Good luck.
