Default Need Help: directional signal problems

My 77 turn signals stopped working? 4 ways work, Parking lights work, Took steering wheel off and cleaned connections, than bought new turn signal switch and hooked it in to harness without any luck. New fuse and flasher placed also. I went through all wireing without any luck. All bulbs work. Any suggestions on where to go next???

Are there more than one flashers for these cars? I changed out the one in the fuse panal which is above the circuit breaker.

If your 77 is similar in wiring to my 80 then yes there are two flashers. One for hazards and the other for turn signals. I belive on my 80 the turn signal flasher is located in the lower right corner of the fuse block.

Regards,

Jim

Does anyone have a schematic of these things; man that would be so helpful. I looked into a wiring diagram for the 77 and it shows 2 flashers as stated before, one for the 4 ways and one for the turns. It dosn't give you an indication where the turn flasher is but does show the 4 way flasher in the fuse panal. Man I wished I had looked at that earlier.
Thanks for all the help guys.

The flasher is located on the RH side dash behind the map pocket. You should check the fuse if you havent already. Rather simple circuit actually. The most complicated thing is when it has to switch the brake lamps out of the circuit to operate the signals. You should have eliminated any problems in there with the new TS switch. Power is suplied directly to the flasher from the fuse (probably a blue wire). Out the other leg of the flasher it goes directly to the TS switch. Out of the switch to each side lamps.
