Re: drag races in hawaii (1980 razz)
That was me!!! I have already updated my sig with my new best time of 13.759. I was hoping for a little bit faster time and much higher MPH but the weather was not agreeable tonight. Maybe soon. You know the funny thing about Norris is that my car might be a wee bit faster now, but I have never beaten him at the track, he gots skillz. The best thing about tonight is that my car is still running ok!!!!!!

Hey razz
Good to hear you making it out to the track! I believe all Vettes need to stretch their legs out every once-in-awhile and make a few runs. Not that you are not already in love with the Vette now, wait until you start doing some performance modifications and see the improvements on those time slips. You'll be hooked!!! Hopefully soon, we'll get to meet.
Maurice
I guess the time has come where you're going to be marching right by me at the end of the 1/4.  Before I do more mods to my setup, we need to run head-to-head again. That way you'll get the satisfaction of taking the white slip. To make this more interesting, let me run with the drag radials???? ;) ;) Should make things a little closer.

Cappy
Maurice told me about you smoking tires w/ 273(?) gears!
I got to get all of us on video doing the Vette-thing at the track. Practice your burn-outs for the video :D

Cappy, I am going to try to make it to the track again tonight. Give me a call if you are going out there. If the weather conditions aren't any better, I probably won't be doing any runs but I will still be out there.

Re: drag races in hawaii (nunus79)
One of my coworkers went out with me last night and I got to borrow his helmet! He lives about 3 miles from me and said I could borrow anytime. The helmet problem is solved for now. I only made two runs last night also, didn't want to push my luck. First run was 13.72 early in the night, then remembered I didn't loosen my alternator belt. Second run was the 13.56 and the air temp was much cooler, also on that one, I got to follow a rail dragster that did TWO burnouts, first one on purpose, second one taking off on her real run, so I also had my best 60' ever on that one (2.10) with the additional traction.

Mark,
I got my 106 (106.5) on Sat night, but with a 13.7 run! I plan on going out again on Sat night for one last attempt at a 13.4 or so. Hopefully there will be a few vettes out (Norris and Cappy) if I keep on bothering them to come out. You should try also to make it out and get a run in with your car to get a baseline.

Re: drag races in hawaii
Cappy, you are more than welcome to make runs with the drag radials. I want to see those things pulling some 1.8 times just so I know they are capable of doing so.
Hopefully we will all be able to make it out! Should be a blast if Cappy takes it easy on us, no need to worry about me. :D
