Were you able to clean the old grease off the tracks and rollers? My 79 was the same way, when I could get the drivers side window to roll down.

It sounds like the brushes in the motor are about gone.

One problem that is part of the design is the flexing of the wires at the door hinge area where they pass between the body to the door. This constant flexing causes the strands to break and reduce the amp capacity.
You can bypass this by putting battery power directly to the motor in the door. A charger doesn't have the oomph to do this. If the window speeds up then its the wires. Just disconnect the plug and jumper to it.
Eventualy the wire or wires break and the window stops. This is a worthwile check since you have the skin off for the rest anyway.

When I did my power windows, I shot the motor with WD-40 first, until they moved quickly. Then when they were to my liking, I shot them with spray-white lithium grease.
Ask Smash(C4 forum), my windows are quicker than hell.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how much grease or oil you spray on the motor, gears, or rollers. When I pulled mine out of the doors, the old 26+ yr grease was hard as rock on the rollers. When I soaked the stuff off 2 of the rollers fell off..... Installed all new rollers and cleaned it all up. Works like a charm.

Our cars are getting old now, when things don't work the same as they used to it's probably because they need to be reconditioned. Now if only we could be reconditioned to work like new when we get old and don't work the same as we used too.
