Anyone running a Holley 4010 Aluminum Carb ?
Just curious if anyone here has one of these two piece carbs. Looking for good/bad stories behind them.

A Holley 4010 is a marine carb designed for use on boat engines. The automobile version of that carb is the 4011 series. I own a 4011, 800 cfm, double pump version which is a spread bore design. This carb ran flawlessly for me for 12 years and made good power but for some reason after I rebuilt my 427 it wouldn't idle properly. I suspect it had something to do with the vacuum signal, as I changed my cam, lifters, etc. to a fuller roller set up with a much higher lift. I still have the 4011 carb, though.

The 4010 is NOT a marine carb (there is a marine version)
The 4010 is the square bore model and the 4011 is a spread bore.
The 4010 was available in 600,750 cfm
The 4011 was available in 650 and 800 cfm
Both models came with either mech or vacuum secondaries.
I have used both the speadbore and presently have the 4010 600 cfm double pump version.
The only real problem I've had is a off idle stumble that has since been corrected by opening the idle feed restrictors.
It's true the float needle and seats as shipped couldn't cope with any more than about 6lbs of fuel pressure and were prone to flooding.
Mine works pretty well at present, but I'm going to try a Demon in the near future.............. :smash:

I have run a 600 cfm 4010 and a 750 cfm 4010. Both worked great. The off-idle stubmle can easily be eliminated with a different accellerator pump cam. Also, the 4010 series carbs work very well in blow-through supercharged or turbocharged setups.

What performance gain can be had with a demon and what is the web page for it. Yellow now that is one beautiful engine bay, between you and MotorHead I hang my head in shame. :(

Oops. Yellow72 you are correct, the 4010 is square bore. Sorry about the bad information. I just got mixed up there for a second.
