Default Radio and speakers.

I bought a new radio and speakers from Mid America. I was very disappointed with the speakers. They're listed for my years Vette but the mounting doesn't match the attachments in the dash pad at all. I called Mid America about it and they said that everybody just sort of cuts, hammers, bends, etc, to fit them. :bs So I thought a bit, and bought a plastic semiclear waste can. From that material I fabricated a mounting bracket, much like a spacer, with the speaker on one side and then bolted to the dash pad. It works well :)

Just thought I'd pass it on.

Good job!! I did the same thing when installing my new speakers. Only two dash mounting bolts lined up with the speakers, so I made the same spacer out of some 1/4 in Lexan sheets I have laying around. Works great doesn't it??

Thanks for the idea. Gonna put new speakers in mine this winter. Hadnt thought about mounting problems yet. Now, if I have them...I have a solution too.
