My roof lifted up one day going 80 mph. I heard the noise, and thought...I wonder if thats my roof panel comming off? It was. I put my hand out the window and held it in place until I got home.
Dealership replaced the entier roof totally under warranty. They dont just glue it back on, they remove and replace the entire roof. It took 5 days because they paint the new top locally.
Works great now, though I can see a difference in paint hue, but you really have to be looking at it.

Well I guess Murphy's law is about right. On my way home tonight, after the car sat in the sun today, I heard a whoosh while on the parkway and got off at the next exit where I discovered that I can place my finger under the front of the roof panel. Looks like a trip to the dealer is in store for me ASAP. Any chance of them covering a worn seat bolster and a door panel which is pulling away at the bottom?

I just got my roof replaced today. It took longer than expected since when it flew off, it took some other stuff with it and that had to be rebuilt with expoxy. It seems the 1st owner (a dealer) did actually have it reclued but not the replace the roof panel witht he new material. The tech said it also was a sloppy job. Hopefully, it is fixed for good.
Ps: It is an early 2006 Z06

I have called GM and ask for recall info on my Vin Number (beginnig with 6) and they have no recall info on this vin. Also called dealers, and they have no info on it. Could it be that they did a small batch of cars with the correct materials and mine is one? Or should I just plan
on have a targa one day?

I am still on the original roof. Car was built 6/06, less 3,000 miles, garaged, Arizona car.

Something to consider, if you get the recall letter, take it in. If the roof were to come off, injure/kill someone, I would not want some lawyer coming after me because I waited.

I agree, our is an early (VIN lower than 550) build 2007 Z06 and I noticed yesterdaythat it is coming off. We did a 130 mile cruise Sunday afternoon in 105+ degree Texas heat. That plus two previous hot Texas summers is probably what did it. Talked to the dealer Service Manager this morning and he is going to order a new roof today.
