What is the difference in length of a 80+ strut and a 79- year strut??????
What is the difference in length of a 80+ year strut and a 79- year strut?????? Any other differences?

I think the bushings are a tad larger on the 80+ struts and you have to specify the year of the struts when ordering new bushings for that reason.
I vaguely remember a prior discussion on that issue, but I am having a "senior moment" right now.

The struts are not interchangeable. The 80-82 strut is offset, the 79-older strut is not. By offset, I mean that the older strut is installed directly parallel to the vertical plane of the halfshaft; the newer one is at an angle. When the differential was changed for the 80 model, the inboard strut attachment point was relocated farther rearward. So the struts had to be reconstructed, with the end loops that hold the bushings now welded on at angles.
