need pics of engines, for ideas (valve covers & air cleaners)
I'll be dropping a zz4 in soon and would like to see some pics of some engines. Specifically, I'm interested in seeing the different air cleaners and valve covers. I haven't seen too much in the mags. thanks  :seeya

Mine is pretty much stock so if you want a starting point, here you go. There were a couple of great previous threads though (check the archive) with some incredible engines shots belonging to other forum members.
One of my favorites is RED73's. The others were great too though.

If you go to the Yahoo Photo link in my sig and open the album titled My Photo there are some pictures there of my motor before I rebuilt it a few months ago, but a real clean starting point as well.

Got this Whopper K&N X-Stream Flow to fit under my SB Hood somehow?? The filter on my old setup had to be less than 2" or risk contacting the hood!!
A .75" dropbase canister makes it all fit under the hood easily :-)
The K&N filter alone is 2.75" in height.
The drop Base bottomed on my Steel fuel line so I swapped to a Banjo inlet fitting and rubber fuel line.
Also had to tweak my manual choke Pull a little to make that work.

I perfer the rust/paint peeling/ dirty look myself. :jester
Just kidding, see sig, Im changing all that now. Im thinking of doing the block a gloss black, and having the heads and intake painted the same color as my car.

Just added these Valve Covers today, if you look close enough I don't even half them bolted down yet, need longer bolts. I think these covers will bolt on the the ZZ4 if you use adapters for the center bolt heads.
Good luck,

I guess it all depends on what you like and what you can afford. I like things basic, so everything is factory correct. Of course, not having the clutter or power-parasites like power steering, A/C or even power brakes makes it look even better!
