Radiator leak when hot
I noticed a leak in the radiator yesterday. It leaked about 1-2 inches of coolant from the radiator and then stopped. It wasn't leaking anymore lastnight or this morning. I took her out for a short drive and when I got back it was leaking again. I changed the thermostat yesterday when I flushed the radiator. Could this have something to do with it?

Yep, probably opened up a weak spot. Time for a new one most likely.

Pull it out and bring it to a radiator repair shop. 90% of the time they can fix them up for years of trouble free operation.

Already tried the stop leak stuff. Didn't work.
I guess I'm going to have to throw down the money. At least I can do it myself so I don't have to pay for labor.

If you have any kind of a decent motor I wouldn't recommend putting leak stop in it. Really gunks up engine , such as water pump. Besides that is generally only a temporary fix. Repair sounds like a good possibility since these can cost $500 - $600 for a correct match (Griffin) :flag

Best to get it recored, I finally did it this past summer after about 1 yea of the leak getting constantly worse. But these cars have a habit of springing new leaks, now I am leaking power steering fluid after replacing ps control valve and all hoses - go figure.

This reminds me of when I bought my vette.
The bubba who sold it to me had removed the thermostat.
Once I threw one in, and drove her for 40 mintues, it had all kinds of pinholes spraying fluid in all directions and smoked like crazy. :mad
I had her re-cored for around $150-$200.

Pull it out and take it to a GOOD radiator shop. They can pressure test it and find the leak(s). Most likely it can be repaired for a lot less than a new one, if the core is decent shape.
