What do you all think??? DO I drive it or let it sit in the garage??
Here is my Issue:
My wife starts back to school, she has a part time job at the school book store. We have one vehicle plus my vette. I work 4 days on and 4 days off. I will not have the money to paint my car until Febuary.I can put my car in primer and drive it in January. Or do I just work around the one vehicle issue and leave it in the garage until I take it to the paint booth and spray it. I really want to drive it. It would be for the most part just back and forth to work. 10 miles each way. Would I be embarrassing the vette community by driving it in primer?? What would you do??

Even a "work in progress" Vette such as yours looks better than most of the cars out on the road. I say drive it and it will become a "before and after" for anyone who sees it. Doing this will also make people see what kind of "blood, sweat and tears" goes into a project like this; not to mention the skill and determination. And lets not forget the MONEY either.

By all means drive it! Whats it going to hurt? It would be nice for the people in your area to see what you've accomplished on your project and you get to enjoy driving it. I hate corvettes that are drivable and do nothing but sit in garages and are towed everywhere they go!!!!!! :flag

Ok ay we are spending Christmas in Bowling green. When we get back it gets a real dull coat of grey. Which will all be removed before it gets it`s real paint job. Hopefully that will be the first week of Febuary.

I drove mine to work for a couple of months every day. I work about 15 minutes from home, without highways. This close commute ROTTED my exhaust VERY quickly. I dropped the passenger side muffler pulling into my driveway, because the 'J' bend had rotted completely away. The driver's side muffler was extra loud from the multiple exit points along the rusting seams.
Its okay though, I wanted a real excuse for spending money on the car anyway. ;)
Happy Holidays :seeya

DRIVE IT!
I'm driving mine with a big sanded patch on the hood from an errant fan blade. The paint job needs to be replaced, but that won't happen until the suspension and drivetrain are completed. I take it off of the jackstands and drive it for a few days every month or so. Like today through new years unless it snows. :D

I vote for keep it in the garage!
Reason: If you put on primer it will soak water which will ruin the paint later in the process by building up bubbles.
Florida (I love this state!) has unfortunately a very humid climate so that your primer will soak water even if it gets no rain!
Sorry, I like to drive my vettes also, but I´m thinking the long run.......

I'd say drive it! I've drove mine everyday this week, though its kinda strange not seeing other C-3's, only C-5's.
