Mine had one when I bought it. It was nice to have the space but I didn't like using it because if I wanted to take it off I had no where to put it. It just took up space in the garage so I gave it away. Glass tops would be better if they weren't so expensive. The seals were shot on mine anyway and the chrome trim was pealing off.

I've got one, and I use it. But only because my driver's side T-Top has the fiberglass area around the front mounting pin broken away. As soon as I can figure out a way to repair it (I've been looking for a cheap shell at swap meets) they will go back on the car.
The Astro top is nice except for the mounting and clamping stuff. If they could figure a way to secure it like the T-Tops it would be a better design. I think the mounting stuff is very cheap looking and I expect that stuff will be the first to break off.
Actually the Astro top fits in the rear storage are easier than my T-Tops...
One more thing. In their installation paper they state that the top cannot be returned if you break the mounting stuff, without prior consent. That should be a clue that it's a weak design area.

329. Thinking of buying (73-454)
Thats a lot of money for an ill-fitting part such as this. I bought one years ago (cheaper) and while I was able to modify it so that the seals worked, there are several here on the forum who have not. I dont think I would pay that much for one.
On the flip side - the headroom is greatly increased and if you can get it to seal it works fine - I too take exception to the mounting method - I wouldnt want to get rear ended with one of these on my car - I would bet you would end up with a mounting bolt puncture in the back of your head

Ken,
I've got an extra set of t-tops (came with the car when I bought it). They are 73 sparkly yellow (don't know what it is called) so it would need to be painted. Email me if you are interested.

I bought one last summer. The only fit-up problem is at the front corner; where the window frame, window and t-top all meet. I have corrected this for everyday driving. Not certain how well it would seal in a hard rain. Since I don't drive my Vette in the rain it doesn't concern me. The extra head room and open feeling are very nice and are the reasons I continue to use the Astro top. In summary; the Astro top is not perfect, but for the price it is satisfactory for me.

i also bought an ASTRO TOP and since i have driven the car once since the install i dont have much info it did give some more head room .....mine also didnt fit real well in the front corners but once i have some free time it shouldnt be to hard to fix that problem ..... i purchased mine at a corvette expo and they usally have a ASTRO TOP vendor at them i paid $290.00 for mine instead of the regular price so if you can find an expo near you its worth the savings

I have one of the ASTRO TOPS,the extra headroom is great. I cut the trim off and had it painted.
