What caused this ?
Had a puddle of brake fluid under the right rear tire, took the wheel off and found the brake caliper had broken at both mounting bolts, flipped up and broke the brake line, bent the living &%%$*& out of the backing plate. I haven't even driven this car outside the garage yet. :mad :cry

Wow never seen anything like that! Lucky it didnt happen on the road!
All i can think of is that the pads froze onto the disk and simply ripped of the caliper. Look on the disk for signs of where the pads got stuck. Weird. Id love to see some pics of the discs.

I'll take some pics and mail them to you. I never seen anything like this either or have I ever heard of this happening. You'd think the car just wouldn't move but to break the caliper, thats impressive.

Slide,
I have never seen this before. I would bet that someone dropped the caliper when it was out of the car and caused a crack in the mounting support. Just my 2 cents.
