Default Info needed on swapping out 3.08 gears and putting in 3.70

On my 76 coupe, Is the change from 3.08 to 3.73's a straight forward swap?
What are the steps involved?
Will the gears fit in the existing pumpkin?
All info greatly appreciated.

If the 3.08 has some miles on it I would put in a new clutch pack and new bearings. As was said earlier you must set the pinion depth correct and back lash. The contact patch on theteeth have to be right or you will get noise. 3.70 gear fit a 3 series pumpkin.
