Re: camshaft install (7Bob3)
the lower line on the condensor in my 77 is hard lined in...I dunno how much swinging it will do before it does bad things. I was wondering this same thing...does anyone know if the lower line is high or low pressure? if low could I cut about 5" out of the metal line and put in about 6" of rubber hose, so I could swing it out of the way if I ever wanted to do a cam swap??
I think I could do it if it was low pressure, but Im sure its high pressure, why else would it be hard line?

As an added reply to my 1st one, we got the cam in and out w/o removing the condenser.....but we did put a few dents in it.....it was THAT close... :yesnod: :seeya

I have also read that the hood must be removed to replace the motor.A big old nope to that one!Unless I was just dreaming I was out there working for 8 hour or so!

Re: camshaft install (EarnIt)
I don't think you can go to a rubber line on any of the AC system unless it has fittings on the ends of it. If you try and hose clamp it, it will blow off. Maybe braided hydraulic line?
