what was the torque rating(in ft-pounds) of a 1979 corvette small block 350? even a ballpark figure would help, thanks

According to the Corvette Chronicle by James Flammang:

L48 = 270lb-ft at 2400 RPM
L82 = 260lb-ft at 3600 RPM

couldbefun. According to the manual GM sent me , the 5.7, L-48 has 8.2:1 compression; 195hp @4000; and 285 lb. ft. @3200. I had one of these last year. This year i have the L-383 model and it's FAR superior!!! JCL :yesnod: :yesnod: :cool: :chevy
