Default * Who's got Aftermarket Stereos * Pix * *

Hey guys,

Summer's here, my baby needs some change. I've done some search on www.onlinecarstereo.com and other websites. IF I end up changing the head unit (thanks to Teddy who talked me into it), I'd want something with a DVD player (& TV tuner).

So, plz share what upgrades you've done, photos, and even if you've done no upgrades but have info, plz share.. ..

Thanks as always... Hope its a fun thread.

This is a separate head unit and monitor. The dash was not modified.

Mine is a single din Lanzar with a 5 inch screen. I plan on doing a custom double din in a few months.

I got my car a whole new stereo facelift this year with a Double Din bezel with a JVC touch screen. It comes with the ability for I-Pod, USB connection, Blue Tooth Phone and AV inputs. It is an awesome stereo IMHO. I also had Hertzs front door speakers installed with custom door panels, custom dash painting and a JL amp 500/5 and JL W-1 sub with a one of a kind sub incloser with LCD screen. I hope this can give you several ideas on what you can do to your car.

Kenwood DNX7120 (with Bluetooth)

Not a show setup but I run a Kenwood 7100, Xtant 100w for each door and a 600w Xtant fot the JL 10w3 sub in a stealth box. I run a set of Boston Acoustic RC 620 components with the tweetwers behind the door handles. Sounds GREAT!

They have to be cut, sanded re-molded and re-finished.

or.... you can have one built for you. Once of the CF members does it, but i cant think of his name at the moment.

No, his name is C5 KIDD, and hes a supporting forum vendor that sells custom pre-made pre-painted consoles for the installation of aftermarket stereos, which he also sells.

OP, here is his profile with links to his store.

Heres a couple of mine, door panels are stock looking with 8" subs, 4" mids and tewwters behind the pulls stock rear speakers were replaced with coax that fit in stock grills and I have a single din sony with Ipod, bluetooth, single Cd and thats it, looks nice and I didnt feel the need for DVD in the car, The dash work would have blown the budget, its not my DD and I like looking where I am going with 500 ponies pushin me around The sound in the car is awesome and I love it.Hope yu find a setup you like cause that is what matters most, there is an audio section here somewher, my installer has several pics od different setups on there, search lisounds or lisoundsvette, I forget what his handle is

Mines a Pioneer AVIC X1R (latest US is the N3) flip out screen. This was the Forum favorite until the double DINs became popular

I wanted sat nav at a decent price which is why I went this way. I had to swap out the N1 for the X1R when I moved back to England. The navigation and radio functions are different in Europe.

I did a self install and it was the first time I'd stripped the car down to a point where I wondered should I have started this

Not the best pic, but I like subtle improvements.

Painted Double-Din Modded Bezel
AVIC D3 head unit DVD/Mp3/Nav
Ipod hookup via dremel tool
I also swapped all the lighting in the car to Blue LED while I was in there.

I haven't swapped the speakers yet, but it's next on my list.
