Default Some one Explain this to me

Today, my wife and I drove for about two hours enjoying the nice weather. When I returned home, my gas gauge read more than when I left. Hmmmmmm?

Did you stop by the gas station during your trip?

Please keep driving. You are single-handedly reducing our dependence on foreign oil!!

When it gets to the full mark, I'll bring over the Oklahoma Credit Card (siphon hose) and transfer some to mine. That way you can continue to drive it!

Seriously was it the guage or the estimated miles left? With estimated mile left range, if your more recent gas mileage was better due to low speed freeway or back road cruising with few stops, the range remaining could go up.

Otherwise, see if it repeats the behavior and take it in to check. Good luck!

If you mean the computer DISTANCE TO EMPTY thing, that's normal for long distance driving. The computer,if anything like they were in LINCOLN's I used to drive, register the last 500 miles of driving and compute the figure that way.
...or your gas guage is broke!

Ahhhh. You can't fool me. Next thing you'll be asking us if we want to buy a bridge or some nice swamp land. I just look dumb ...

Or you have one of those tuner vettes from Perpetual Motion Engineering.

Hey, I resemble that remark. Do you know for fact that it was a serious question? If it was, a mechanic will have to troubleshoot. Bad sending unit maybe?

If your gas gauge truly read more after your drive it is broken. Take it in for service.

This always happens when I drive in reverse.
