[REPRINT] Time for more C3 Corvettes in the Our Corvette Heritage series?
Is it time for more C3 Corvettes in the Our Corvette Heritage series?
We've done a few C3 reprints (5 out of the total 17 published to date), but we've done a lot more C2's.
Enjoy! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...804469#1804469

ZR-1 was a package RPO an LT-1 engine along with some other items. I do not know the details... There was also a ZL-1 offered in '69. A total of two were sold. Roger's corvette's of Orlando has one that he got from the state. It was confiscated in a drug bust and the state auctioned it off. It has was an aluminum block L-88 427. BIG $$$$ option then but try to buy it today.

The original ZR-1 was a pretty neat concept... Basically an LT-1 with all of the heavy duty suspension and brake parts found on the L-88s... Also most of the option restrictions associated with the L-88s as well.
Chevrolet records indicate 53 Corvettes ordered with the ZR-1 option during the years it was available (1970-1972); 25 in 1970, 8 in 1971, and 20 in 1972. There wasn't a whole lot to to tip you off as to what the ZR-1 was... Not even a special hood like the L-88s. For the most part, it looked like every other LT-1 externally.
There have been a few magazine articles over the years about the ZR-1 and I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to look at a few in person as well. Another piece of information is always appreciated though! I'm looking forward to reading what you have.
