194377S109443 would be a coupe
194677S109443 would be a vert
I just checked the c2 registry it's not there, but 109449 is the closest one.

Stamp pad assembly date is T1003JE
This is an early block, engine assembled in Oct. '67, and it appears that it went into a late Jan. built Vette. Seems odd that there is such a lag between engine assembly and installation. Any thoughts on this?
I have some photos and will post shortly.
Thanks,
george

Out of the car they photograph so much better. Note how the grain of the block is so present, but the broaching marks are very subtle. Unlike the belt sander jobs that we normal see here.

Any secrets on finding blocks like that, that you are willing to share to someone who lived across from **** Hill Park for 15 years.

George,

Thanks for the photos. I have seen a very close VIN (low 9000) that also had an October assembly date.

I'll wait for JohnZ or someone else to provide better guidance, but my understanding is that there was no FIFO inventory system so engines could from time to time hang around. Particularly it seems with the less common engine options (FI, SHP big blocks, etc.)

Also note the use of a 1 instead of a capital i

Lot more things happened than we like to simplistically believe.

T1003JE = T is Tonawanda, 1003 is October third , JE is 427/435.

No secrets; local newspaper ad. "Chevy 427, complete long block, dissasembled, checked at machine shop and guarenteed...."

You might be correct. Wouldn't be nice to learn if you were the current owner, but then again, if I did own this Vette, I would want the original block.

Bill,
I think you meant that 1003 is October third, not November.

Your right Thanks. I will fix it
Joel is also right. After I thought about it a little bit I went back to my picture files and I found 1's and I's used in the date. Sorry Joel.

That is ok Bill.

In general, you will find the i far more common than 1 with big blocks. Actual 1's are really sort of an oddity
