I put Flowmasters on my 79
I have 2.5 true dual exaust that did have Dynomax super turbos.
They sounded like a musclecar but at 55 they roared in the car.
I put the Flowmasters on myself and they pointed up under the bumper and the sound bounced off the frame and was so loud coming in the car everything rattled more than usual.
So today I went to the muffler shop and he bent the pipes alittle and tweaked here and there made them fit perfect. For a tip he bent a 2.5 pipe and added a chrome tip just under the bumper.
It looks good and sounds good, way different than bouncing off the frame.
So if you are getting new mufflers #389-42543 Flowmasters 2 chamber are very good.
If your muffler man knows what hes doing they will fit just right.

I got flowmasters put on mine too. Me and my muffler guy took some chrome tips, cut them, and welded them to the mufflers. It looks exactly like the stock exhaust except the tips are wider. I'll try to get the camera out tonight and take some pics to show you.

My muffler man did the same thing last year. Don't have any cats which I may add later. Setting off car alarms is kind of fun though.

Makes sense. They just passed a new emissions law here and I can't wait to put straight duals on and get rid of the cats!!

Cars with less than 5K miles accumulated per year can get an "Emissions Exempt" STICKER...costs almost as much as a regular emissions sticker :mad

Here's some pics of wht we did on my car. I took the back bumper off of my car recently so you can't see how well it all fits together, but it does look good.
