So I'm at the skating rink where my little bro (13 year old goalie) is playing a game. I go to the food stand and get a hot dog. And the kid sees my Corvette jacket. He starts talking about his VR4 that he's going to get.

He says he's going to get a VR4. He says he's going to take a V6 and a V4 and weld them together to make a VV10. He said "V V 10." Not W10. He also says it will be made of titanium! At which point I say "You mean you're going to get all this selling hot dogs?" And he tells me he knows a guy who can do this cheap. :rolleyes: And he goes on to tell me he's going to have 20 5lbs bottles of NOS on it. And he's going to have a turbocharger on each cylinder. Plus he's getting an 8-speed tranny because he'll be spinning through a 6-speed.

So I'm of course amusing myself and ask him what he thinks it'll run in the 1/4 at Bandimere (local dragstrip). He says "They don't let you run NOS at Bandimere." I decide not to break his little heart by telling him there's lots of people that use NOS. He tells me that 2.5 miles is too short of a drag strip to run NOS. (Which of course...to him anyway...is how long a 1/4 mile is.)

Oh well...he can't compete with my Corvette!!! See sig. :lol:

The kid was 16-18. Rather young.

I have a pair of specially made lead tires in the rear. Couldn't get traction otherwise.

ya know i was between 16 and 18 just a little over 6 months ago and i really hope i was never THAT dumb about cars. im pretty sure i could say i wasnt.....man thats a sad story :smash:

That's exactly what I thought! And he was so serious about it too. I felt kinda sorry for him. He probably doesn't get out much. And his little co-worker was believing this stuff too! I wish/hope that this kid was trying to test my knowledge of cars to see if I knew anything about cars but I don't think so.

Aaahh, Youth! Whatever. We all started somewhere. At least the kid recognized your jacket and knew, in his own way, what it meant. He's interested and he's enthusiastic. Let's hope he gets wiser as he gets older.

The other day i was at work and I over hear this guy talking, He says "I have a brand new Trans Am all ready to race" So here I am thinking ok maybe he might, maybe it's for his dad and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Some other co-worker started asking him questions about it and I know better to get into the convo because I hate embarassing someone in front of people, especially if the people are believing this story because that means they are just as ignorant than the guy telling it. So this is what I over heard, I have a brand new TA, it has Nos, twin turbos, ram air and a supercharger, dude it's so fast! :lol: Here I am -------> :rolleyes: When the other guy asks him (obviously trying to cut a hole in the story) Why don't you ever drive it to work? And he says ARE YOU CRAZY? YOU CAN"T DRIVE A CAR LIKE THAT ON THE STREET! IT ISN"T STREET LEGAL! we have it trailered to the track. And I'm thinking, for once he said something true, you probably can't drive that car on a street :D :lol: :lol: :lol: :D Any way to have such a smoking car he must make a lot more money waiting tables than I do bar tending, especially with all those mods he;s got! The next week I hear the same guy talking to yet someone else. You know what I want? A brand new TA! I just smiled and went about my business.

Oh and just yesterday I saw another idiot reading a mag on import performance and I ask him, Ever see anything in there for Grand Am GT's (because my girlfriend has one and I love the car, I have a burning desire to mod it!) He says--- You have a Grand Am GT with RAM AIR? I was like yeah, And he says MAN THAT IS SUCH AN AWESOME CAR! Whats it running, A 6 or an 8 (obviously talking engines not 1/4 mile times here) I chuckled and said 6 man, 6. He says well anyway his car is better, I was like what do you drive, 1994 Toyota COROLLA :lol: :lol: :lol:
