What to do with seatbelt color??
Have an oppurtunity to purchase NOS seatbelts cheap but they are the wrong color. Can they be dyed from a dk blue to oxblood? I was thinking about dying them myself. First I would try to remove the blue dye then redye in oxblood. Can it be done?? Would a bleach solution remove the dk blue? Anybody try this before and have any luck? Thanks

someone has done it before Im sure. I see guys saying it can be done, and others saying it can't. If worse comes to worse you can send them to snake oil place for rewebbing and get them webbed in the correct color. I think its pretty cheap too.

I tried it and couldn't get it to work, the nylon wouldn't accept the dye. I called EastWood and they said they wouldn't recommend dying the belts because the chemicals in certain dyes and cleaners could cause the belts to loose their strength. They said I should have them rewebbed by a company that does belts. This is from a company that sells dye for upholstery.
