Will running open headers to muffler shop burn up car?
I just put a set of Dynomax headers on the car and need to bring it to shop for them to hook up to rear pipes. They exhaust pretty close to the floor boards. Will this be a problem?
Thanks

Question: How far away is the pipe shop? If your just going five or ten minutes away... keep the speed down and go for it. Shouldn't be a problem. Might be a bit noisy though.

You should worry more about cops than about the floorboards :). I've made a few of those trips and every time I'd wished the muffler shop was farther away :).

It won't hurt a thing! And above all, go early in the morning so you can be there when they open for business.....and HAVE FUN!!!!

I did this a few months ago. I think the kids next door started crying and all the dogs for miles around started barking. My next door neighbor was having an open house...oh well, it was fun to drive. Make sure children and pets are far away.

Hehehehe...
I'm doing this sometime next semester...gotta save up for the headers and the baffles (JCL and I are trying to rig up an undercar spiral baffle setup). :smash:

My '74 long tubes are kinda in the intermediate tubes but not hooked up.
Kinda half way between open and stock, but sounds like I got a bad exhaust leak.
Driving it that way 3 days/week for about 6 weeks now, I should bring it to the shop in the next day or so when the rear trailing arms are done

I did it about a month ago. No problems... except for the fact that the dog wouldn't come near me for about a week. :D
