Ignitor conversion kit
Has anyone used the ignitor conversion kit from MidAmerica? Apparely it increases spark plug life by 200%, provides faster acceleration, and horsepower. :chevy

Re: Ignitor conversion kit (jetblack)
Some outfit is selling them on Ebay for about $60.
Do a search for Pertronix, a bunch should show up.
They also have the Ingnitor II.
I am debating on this or the Malory Unilite conversion kit.

Re: Ignitor conversion kit (jetblack)
I have my doubts on claims made for electronic sparkers. I think if there is any improvement it is probably because you changed a faulty or marginal part.
The magic split fire plugs were sued and can no longer make the claims they did.
I would like to see an actual test that showed what a spark is claimed to accomplish. High milage higher horsepower longer plug life. none of this is dependant on the spark if it is already in working order. I doubt without sensitive equipment any change could be measured.
The Jacobs systems that claim a reverse spark or some such nonsense. My brother ripped his apart when it failed. It was junk. He could have built it. and it couldn't have done the things they claimed.
I have the Uni-lite and although nice I would rather have the reluctor type. The kind that is used in cars that came without points. The unilite uses a plastic shield to break the light beam. This needs to be unbolted and rebolted onto a new rotor whenever its changed. The stock kind is just there.
One of the reasons for stock very high voltage systems on cars is they opened up the spark gap. An emisson thing.
