If you fill the hose completely with liquid.....one end in the reservoir.....drop the other end down below level of reservoir....you would not have to suck on any hose to get it started....gravity will do the work...... :seeya

Never tried brake fluid, did do the gas thing once, it took days to get the taste out of my mouth. Gave new meaning to having gas!

I always add a few drops of Vanilla extract a few days before I bleed my brakes. Kinda gives the fluid a rather "pleasant" taste-does'nt smell bad either!!!

Of all the fluids in a car, only one is worse than brake fluid........
rear-end grease !!!
And, yes I have tasted them all, but did not inhale !!
To get rid of brake fluid try either Kool-Aide or lemon aid. Don't ask why I know this, but they work.
And yes, that numb felling is nasty !

Too bad! My first attempt to siphon gas at age 15 resulted in a mouthful (did not swallow), and I was burping it for the next 24 hours!

That's gotta be nasty!
I got a face full of antifreeze the other night putting on new heater hoses. I thought that was nasty until I read your story.
