removing power steering pump
well I found out why my power steering won't work, and I got the part to fix it(hose). But I saw when I was filling my pump last time, that there was a lot of crap(dirt) down in the pump. I don't know how it go there, but anyway, is the pump an easy peice to remove? If not I don't think the crud is really hurting anything right now. But if I can remove it easily I'll go ahead and clean it out.
Thanks;

Re: removing power steering pump (daniel77350)
yah its a cakewalk...
you can remove the alternator if u really need too....
the hoses can be easily reached from underneath...
u know what killed my last pump???
the metal locking thing from the stupid @#@$@#@!@$#@@#ing cap fell off and caused the pump to blow up

Re: removing power steering pump (slide)
I'll look at it while Im "under there" tomarrow. If it looks easy enough I'll do it. It doesn't need it really, and I don't want to be caught up in a massive "while im at it"...

I just had mine off a few months ago. Be sure to use flare nut wrenches on the fittings so you don't mangle the ends - especially if yours hasn't been off the car before. And have a plug / cap ready for the ends of the hoses so they don't ooze PS fluid everywhere. ;) I had the alternator removed at the time so it was really easy to access the pump. ~Juliet
