Default Does anyone know the history of this?

I saw this on ebay and haven't seen the topic talked about here but just interested to see what you think.... is this a rare concept or 60's custom? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...218704435&rd=1

Notice it's sitting in a wet pasture

A number of the old time Corvette people on the NCRS tech forum say it is a kit car on a solid axle chassis. It may be a big brake chassis.

I wonder if the guy knows by now that its not what he thinks it is.
I've walked around the '59 Stingray a few times and that thing isn't close.

Almost speed racer. Interior doesnt seem to match exterior styling. I thought there was no Corvette SS as thats what Corvette means.

They used some of the SS mules at the racetrack without bodies on them.. someone in the know would need to look at the frame.. if all the Mules aren't accounted for.
If I was close I would go look just to get out of the house for a
while... goose-chases can be fun ... sometimes the worse it is the better the story you have to tell your friends later.
This is a body by Bubba... look at how badly the rollbar tonneau
blends in... I have trouble believing anyone from GM styling would do
this bad a job even during a rough mock up... they are totally out of
balance with the rest of the car.... a real hack job...

Owner may have slapped the kit body on there just to cover the frame....or this may be a 70's custom gone bad... which would describe 98 percent of 70's customs. ..... **** on!!

There was just one SS "mule"; Mitchell bought it and it became the Stingray race car we all drool over.

I suppose that is an original Mercedes SSK next to it, awaiting restoration. Oops, its a V.W. kit car.

Did you notice the front and rear side running lights in the fenders. Didn't they start about '68 or '69? How about the "283" insignia on the sides, a real hodge-podge of junk. Those "recaro-like " racing seats really spell race car in my book. Wonder why there are no engine or chassis pics!

This may be a "one -off"!!

Those look like the side marker lights from a '68 Mopar. I plan on adding them to my '54 GMC that has absolutely no light shining to the sides at night, I'd rather not get T-boned by some idiot with their cell phone jammed halfway up inside their head.

This is insane. Is somebody out there really buying this thing? Its nowhere close to being real.
Maybe they know something we don't. Maybe that chassis was under a racecar that won Sebring and LeMans.......

GM made one Corvette SS, but it meant Sebring Special, not Super Sport.
