***Braided Hose Radiator Hose Clamp Announcement***
This Announcement is for all our current loyal customers
who purchased Radiator Clamps with their
Braided Radiator Hoses
Please be advised.
While some customers are having an easy time of it,
some customers are having difficulty installing the Hoses with the supplied Radiator Hose Clamps.
Therefore, we have currently removed the Hose Clamps from the web site.
Going forward, ( including the full engine hose kit ) we will be using Stainless Steel Hose Clamps,
which is the industry standard for aftermarket Hose Kits.
If you have purchased the Hose Clamps with your Braided Radiator Hose, and they are not working for you, please email me at CustomCorvetteAccessories@Gmail.com and I will get you a refund. I will also include an additional $3.00 per set,
for you to go up to the Auto Parts store and get some SS Band Clamps.
Please be further advised that there is not a problem with the hoses. They are all OEM parts and fit fine.
Although we have not gotten to the bottom of why some work and some do not, we felt it necessary to pull these items
and make this announcement for our valued customers.
Although we tested these fittings, something is not right and we wanted to nip this in the bud before to many more got out there
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you
Peace
Chip

Had a small problem with the upper rad hose clamp, but was able to correct it quickly without bothering Chip.
Great customer service Chip, wish all the vendors were as considerate of customer satisfaction as you are.

Hey AJ,
I think I know what the problem is, but I have yet to confirm it.
My theory on this is that there are more than one style neck that GM used.
What is happening is that some of the clamps, when placed over the end of the hose, will not allow enough room for expansion when you try and put it on over the Rad Neck and T-Stat neck.
I had mine off today and there is no bulge (ring) on the Rad Neck or T=Stat Neck, and mine slip on and off very easily. In fact you can do it with one hand.
It would seem that some of the Rad/T-Stats that GM used have a ring on the neck, and some don't. The people with the ring are having a harder time getting it on, and some have reported that they can not get it on.
Peace

That was exactly my problem. I was able to get the T Stat on with enough effort but the rad wouldn't cooperate so I ended up using a metal hose clamp directly on the braided hose and didn't use the chrome clamp.
As it turned out the radiator shroud covered the clamp so I don't consider it an issue.
Like others, I appreciate your pro active response.

I had the exact opposite... got it on the radiator but not the t-stat... My necks have the ring on them.
Great support from Chip
Thanks for this thread.

Very respectable gesture on your part Chip!
